As I drove down the beautiful Gulf Coast in Biloxi, I was taken by the skyline of hotels, casinos and restaurants along the water, all worthy of my attention.
Driving up to the Beau Rivage, I knew I was arriving someplace special. A lovely outdoor floral sign heralding the season greeted me as if to say “welcome.” But I discovered Beau Rivage, which means “beautiful shore,” is designed with the same elegant gardens throughout the hotel as well.
Stay like Royalty
This iconic AAA Four Diamond beachfront resort and casino, part of MGM Resorts International, has been recognized by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure as one of the country’s top resorts. I soon saw why. Standing 32 stories high, the hotel features 1,740 rooms and suites, fine dining, casual restaurants, a buffet and coffee bar, luxury spa, pool with glorious views of the gulf and a championship golf course, Fallen Oak, about 15 minutes away as well as a bustling convention center. For those who want to tempt “lady luck” there’s an 85,000-foot casino, which includes 83 table games, almost 2000 slot machines, and a luxury high-roller salon.
Enjoy Luxury Accommodations
My suite faced the water with exquisite views of the pool and beach, beckoning me to come down and explore. But first, I had to stop at the shopping corridor and found a few really unique gifts I couldn’t find anywhere else.
Discover Exquisite Dining
When it comes to fine dining, Beau Rivage is unparalleled. New Italian restaurant, Stalla creates the perfect recipe for classic Italian food featuring gourmet selections paired with premium Italian wines. Stalla’s traditional menu, inspired by the northern Italian countryside, is reminiscent of Old World-style restaurants in New York’s Little Italy. Their menu includes everything from spaghetti and meatballs to brick oven pizzas or to one of Stalla’s popular entrees: chicken parmigiana, veal piccata or lasagna.
It’s Show Time
At night, the stars come out with top-notch entertainment. Popular artists like Jay Leno, Tony Bennett, B.B. King and The Beach Boys have graced their stage. Or there’s plenty of live music to hear in the bars. What I really enjoyed were the special classes like floral design, crafting cocktails and cooking classes with wine pairings, ideal for bachelorette parties.
