From celebrity chefs to contemporary theater, Las Vegas is a go-to destination for couples – you can indulge in luxury, go exploring and enjoy fine dining.
Indulge in Las Vegas Luxury
With its central Strip location, The Venetian is a wonderful resort to call home for a few nights. My spouse and I stayed in the Luxury Suite with 650 square feet of space including a separate living room and dining area. You’ll feel pampered in the oversized king bed and the all-marble bath offers a separate shower and oversized Roman tub suitable for two. Book your stay for two or more nights to take advantage of resort credit redeemable at on-site restaurants and amenities, including the Box Office and Canyon Ranch SpaClub. Or, use your credit at a number of venues in the Grand Canal Shoppes, a massive shopping center connecting The Venetian with The Palazzo.
Explore High and Low
Glide through the Grand Canal on the fabulously romantic Gondola Ride. Soar above the skyline or explore Hoover Dam with a guided Papillon Helicopter Tour. Experience a night of theater with BAZ – Star Crossed Love and enjoy the music of Baz Luhrmann’s cinematic love stories Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and The Great Gatsby. The cabaret setting is intimate, cocktails are available throughout the performance, and you just might find yourself singing along to popular songs.
For a quintessential Vegas experience, I recommend an evening with Cirque du Soleil. We’ve enjoyed O at Bellagio and KÀ at MGM Grand and both offer stunning performances. KÀ is a breathtaking event with an in-motion stage unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The acrobatic and aerial artistry will impress as performers surprise and delight. O has a spectacular production element for its integration of synchronized swimming and diving. No matter which Cirque show you select, you’ll be inspired to return for another mesmerizing performance. Of course, while at Bellagio, you’ll want to enjoy some time in front of the world-famous fountains. During the day, make time to peruse the collection at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art.
Fine Dining for Two
The part of any Vegas vacation I look forward to most! From celebrity chefs to local family eateries, Las Vegas is home to an incredible variety of taste temptations. Just off The Strip, I recommend Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar. For more than thirty years, this family-owned business has been serving authentic Italian food to locals and visitors alike. From Veal Scaloppini to Seared Tenderloin, and an assortment of house-made pasta, this fine dining establishment will set the mood for a classic evening on the town.
If celebrity chefs appeal, you’ll want to book a table at B&B Ristorante, where Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich share award-winning fare. The impressive wine list offers tastes from every region in Italy. Start your meal with Grilled Octopus, share the tender Pappardelle Bolognese, and then savor the amazing B&B Dry Aged Ribeye for Two. This is one of those incredible steak experiences you’ll write home about.
Save room for your sweet tooth and head to Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill for Sticky Toffee Pudding and Eton Mess Parfait. Order both to share. The parfait is a delicate summery treat that will melt in your mouth, while the toffee pudding hits all the taste buds for its decadent and sweet textures. Plus, once you see the dinner menu, you’ll want to make a date for the next day to try the oak-fired Grilled NY Strip with peppercorn brandy sauce.
For lunch, take a seat at SUGARCANE and sample the Pig Ear Pad Thai. Mix and match from the raw bar and open fire grill for an assortment of taste sensations. And, for a bountiful brunch, visit Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace. Voted “best buffet” numerous times, this venue is unlike any other buffet in Vegas as expansive buffet variety meets fine dining with artistic presentation.
There’s an endless list of options for experiencing a romantic getaway in Vegas and I hope my top picks provide inspiration for your next vacation. A portion of my itinerary was made possible by Las Vegas tourism, where you’ll find additional planning ideas and the latest deals.
