FWT Magazine Issue Five

Welcome to Issue Five of the quarterly FWT Magazine: food wine travel

It gives us great pleasure to bring you another issue, this one themed “USA & Canada.”

I was born in the USA and live most of the year there. I have also lived on both coasts of Canada. They have all become important parts of my life.

D. H. Lawrence, a native of England and author of the infamous Lady Chatterley’s Lover, said — speaking of my home state — “In the magnificent fierce morning of New Mexico one sprang awake, a new part of the soul woke up suddenly, and the old world gave way to a new.” Let’s hope that travel to a new place will provide you with that kind of excitement also. In this issue we will travel first to one of D. H.’s favorites: Taos, New Mexico, then, still in the USA, on to the Outer Banks of North Carolina; to the U. S. National Parks to help them celebrate their Centennial; Norfolk, Virginia; the waterways of New York State; the Hudson Valley; the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa in Riverside, California; on to check out the beer and cider deep in the mountains of western North Carolina; to Yuma, Arizona; to America’s oldest city, St. Augustine; and then fun, culture and food, Texas-style in Amarillo. Then we head for Canada – Prince Edward Island; then on to the Eastern Townships of Quebec Province; and a stop in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for seafood. At last, we take a detour to Puerto Rico where we will get the adrenaline

Cheers,
John Lamkin,
