A Family Adventure on the Paradise Coast

I enjoyed a lovely mother-daughter holiday on the Paradise Coast in March. Over the course of our four days together, we enjoyed shopping, dining, shelling, sunning, running along with lots of smiling, laughing and reminiscing.

For those visiting for the first time, you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised by the array of dining options from casual beachside treats to fine dining featuring local and international fare including Italian, Thai, Sushi, Peruvian, Persian and more.

A short drive from Fort Myers airport, 5th Avenue in downtown Naples is a charming and elegant area for a stroll. We enjoyed a bit of ‘retail therapy’ in the quaint shops then continued to a leisurely lunch at the Dockside Restaurant at Crayton Cove overlooking the Naples City Dock.

Refreshed and energized from lunch, a walk on the beach to Naples Pier was the perfect way to soak in the sunshine and ocean beauty. On a sunny spring afternoon, we shared the view with family vacationers, ‘snowbird’ retirees, international tourists and locals.

The next morning, our adventures continued with a long walk on one of Marco Island’s most pristine beaches, Tigertail Beach Park. In addition to the scenic view, the more secluded setting offers terrific shelling and birding. For those seeking more active adventure, paddleboard and kayak rentals are available on site.

Taking a break from the sun, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch of shrimp cocktail, fish tacos and mango daiquiris at the Dolphin Tiki Bar. The area offers a plethora of other activities from parasailing, golfing, tennis, deep sea fishing, theater and concerts to fit virtually every schedule and preference.

These are just of few of the highlights the Paradise Coast. We ended our mother-daughter holiday, feeling happy, refreshed and blessed …and already looking forward to our next family travel adventure.
