Summer is here and it’s the perfect time to visit Las Vegas and soak up that sunshine. From breezy afternoons by the pool to steamy nightlife, Planet Hollywood is a prime location for a sultry summer getaway.

Relax & Recharge at Planet Hollywood

Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino offers completely renovated guest rooms and suites with sophisticated, chic design and an abundance of amenities. I stayed in an Ultra Hip room with an incredible view of The Strip and famous Bellagio fountains. The room had a deluxe bathroom with a glass shower and separate soaking tub, and the main area included a plush king bed, writing desk, and mini fridge. Need a little extra pampering? Treat yourself to Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara, or head to Salon by Mandara to prep for a big night out.

Award-Winning Las Vegas Dining

Enjoy one of the top rated buffets in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood’s Spice Market Buffet. Featuring cuisine inspired from around the world, you’ll find an incredible assortment for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I loved the fresh snow crab legs and bountiful carving station. If you’re a fan of celebrity chefs but want to watch your budget, head to Gordon Ramsay Burger for a fabulous selection of Ramsay’s signature dishes. Burgers are the go-to, but there’s a nice variety of salads and apps if you want a lighter lunch. Have 24-hour munchies? Try Planet Dailies for a cozy, relaxed atmosphere serving up all day breakfast and comfort food classics.

Ride the Waves on The Strip

Planet Hollywood is the only spot on the Las Vegas Strip for surfing. Yes, surfing. Test your skills on the FlowRider for boogie boarding or surfing, or head to one of two massive pools if you’d rather keep your feet on the ground. One pool features a DJ and lively bar, while the other pool is all ages and offers a quiet place to soak up the sun. Want to relax in style? Book a private cabana for shade, comfort, and a dedicated cocktail server.

Las Vegas Entertainment

When it’s time to get your groove on, Planet Hollywood has an abundance of lounges offering refreshments and music. For headliner fun, check the schedule at The Axis Theater, home to resident shows including Britney: Piece of Me and Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life. During my recent getaway, I saw Jennifer Lopez: All I Have. Lopez performs her best known songs, engages with the audience, and leads sixteen dancers throughout a powerful evening of entertainment. If you’re planning a date night and want to set the mood, head across the street to New York-New York for Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity. This sexy, breathtaking production will keep you on the edge of your seat as performers gracefully defy gravity.
